Some creatures are hard to find. It makes sense in a world full of things that try very hard to eat each other. Camouflage, cryptic behavior, stealth, and silence can be an animal’s best friends.
And then there are sandhill cranes.
Heralds to their own arrival and the coming night, these massive birds throw caution to the wind as the fill the sunset with a chorus of bugles.
Thanks for this, Max. The call of Sandhill Cranes is quite possibly my most favorite sound, natural or otherwise. Totally magical.
