I am an aspiring conservation biologist and nature photographer, serving as Restoration and Outreach Coordinator at American Rivers through AmeriCorps. I worked before that as an education assistant/SCA intern for the National Park Service at Kenai Fjords National Park. I graduated from Middlebury College with a joint B.A. in Biology and Environmental Studies in 2012. My main areas of interest are ecology, habitat conservation, sustainable agriculture and food systems, and education.
I grew up exploring the forests, mountains (or hills), and waterways of New York’s Hudson Valley. After falling in love with one valley, I spent four years in Vermont and naturally fell in love with the Champlain Valley there. Since then I’ve wandered the U.S., working on a sustainable farm here, in a national park there, and seeking out new connections with the natural world everywhere I go.
